About

I'm Hillary, and I'm from Seattle. I mention this because it very much influences and defines me (and is the reason that I can't tolerate extremely hot or cold weather; Seattleites are weather wimps! But we can't survive without at least some rain...)

I have only lived in 4 places: Seattle area, Croatia, South Africa, and Moldova. Each place has a piece of my heart, but instead of my heart getting smaller, with each new place I live it grows to love a new home and carry that experience with me.

I love to meet new people and see new places, learn new things, and expand my worldview. Deeply passionate about interpersonal and intercultural communication, I am a peacebuilder at heart. Cheesy as it may be, I actually do believe that strangers are just friends I haven't met yet, and my hope is to leave the world a little better than I found it.

I love to travel, and Eastern Europe is a particular favorite place to explore. I'm currently a Community and Organizational Development Volunteer with Peace Corps Moldova, and I am loving being part of my community here. This blog is a way for me to share my experience here with anyone who is interested in learning about it.
