I have been in Moldova for a month! Yesterday, we found out where we will be posted for the next 2 years! Our language instructors and program managers drew a huge chalk outline of Moldova and then wrote all the placement sites in it. Then we blindfolded ourselves and they led us to our sites. Once everyone was in place, someone counted down from 3 and we all took off our blindfolds to see where we would be going!
I was excited to find out that I will be serving at a library in a raion center (city) in the south of Moldova! There will be two other Volunteers in the same city, one in the Health Education program and one in the English Education program, and there are other Volunteers in towns not too far away from us (maybe 30 min -1 hour by rutiera).
We are visiting our permanent sites this weekend to meet our host families and work partners. Then we will come back to our current sites to finish the remaining 6 weeks of Pre-Service training. It's exciting to finally have an idea about our partners and locations!
